During the first months of the pandemic when the lodge had very few guests, the team at Tintswalo Atlantic decided to do some long-planned renovations that would add something completely new to the experience at Tintswalo.
In the past, the main restaurant and lounge have provided a space for both lodge guests and daily restaurant patrons to enjoy sundowners, eat meals and relax. But the team at Atlantic wanted to create a unique space that was exclusive to guests; a lounge and deck where residents of the lodge could relax and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the coast, away from the comings and goings of the restaurant.
And so the Residence Lounge was born. To create the lounge, the team adapted two of the suites closest to the pool which enjoy an elevated view of the sea and the shade of big milkwood trees. Having joined the two rooms to create an open space lounge with couches and bar areas; and built an extended deck that flows toward the pool boardwalk, the space is now perfectly positioned to enjoy the coastal views and natural surroundings of Hout Bay and Table Mountain.
At the Residence Deck, guests can relax, enjoy drinks on the couches, have a cocktail at the bar; and simply lounge by the pool before heading over to the main Chef’s Warehouse restaurant for meals. The residence lounge is a tucked-away nook at Tintswalo and the team is so excited to introduce the space to both new and regular guests in the months ahead.
